We Loved your post! We enjoy learning about the 4 stages of competence..we didn't know that before.
It was really insightful.
Also you have inspired me to pick up more books during the day. Sometimes I think I need to find "time" to read, but now I realize that is not true (I was in stage 1) now I am in stage 2, and realize I can pick up all those unfinished books, and just snatch a chapter or two, here and there.
Here are some books we love,
The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis (he has a intriguing view of life after death), The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom, Believing Christ by Stephen Robinson & Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell

Thanks for your great post! And for being a great realtor!

Extremely impressed with the analogies. Truly inspiring just like that Father who runs his handicap son past 30 some odds years carrying him on his back through water and pushing him. See video http://www.cjcphoto.com/can/ sure you seen it. I can't help after reading your entire blog to at least get off my duff and resume running after who knows 20 odds years. My initial goals will be general overall excercise and maybe to run a mile. Lessons in life and examples you give are wonderful. Perhaps you should consider writing a mini-guide book. Exceptional author you are!

Steve,
I am really enjoying your "Lessons". You are a talented writer...the book is appearing before us on this blog. Keep it up. I'm inspired to get back into running or cycling.

Wow! I read it all, from the very beginning. Very inspirational - and timely. I have been wanting, really wanting, to get back into running but, frankly, have lacked the motivation to actually make the commitment and do it. Getting back into it is going to be painful given my current (lack of) conditioning. Your words of wisdom may just tip the scale. I do have a good track record of keeping my new year’s resolutions. One reason for this is that I spend some time thinking about them before I commit - I'm thinking very seriously about becoming a runner once again making it part of my life as you have done with yours.

I look forward to your next words of wisdom
